A theropod dinosaur is described for the first time from the Upper Jurassic of Mongolia. It is represented by a partial skull from the upper Jurassic Dariv Suite in Dariv, Ikhes Nuur Basin, Gobi-Altai Aimag, western Mongolia, situated relatively close to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Province in the western part of China. The lectotype of the Middle Jurassic theropod dinosaur Megalosaurus bucklandii, a right dentary, can be diagnosed on the basis of two unique characters: a longitudinal groove on the ventral part of the lateral surface of the dentary and a slit-like anterior Meckelian foramen. A new ichthyosaur, Platypterygius ochevi sp. nov., from the Albian–Cenomanian of the Voronezh Region is described based on a partial forefin. It differs from congeners in the very large facet for the lageniformis on the humerus.
